Scientific Program

BPS '11 is the 12th biennial international Bayreuth Polymer Symposium. Current topics of interest from the field of functional polymers, block copolymers, polymer colloids, intelligent polymer interfaces, polymer nanostructures, and bioinspired polymer nanotechnology, are presented.

Special sessions on "Self-Organized Nanostructures" and "Polymer Foams" will be included.

A primary objective of this meeting is to bring together people from different areas of polymer and materials science in order to discuss different aspects of fundamental and applied research. The symposium aspires to provide a platform for dialogue between researchers from universities, industry, and research institutions. We especially encourage young scientists to present their work.

The scientific program consists of

  • plenary lectures on recent developments in polymer science,
  • invited and
  • submitted lectures (30 minutes) and
  • poster sessions. The posters will be presented by a two minute oral introduction.

The conference language of all contributions is English.

The conference will start on Sunday, Sept. 11, around 17:45 with two plenary lectures.
Afterwards our legendary get-together "BPS" (beer, pretzel, sausage) will end the first day.
On Monday evening there will be a concert for regular participants.
BPS '11 will conclude on Tuesday evening with the conference dinner.
