Anionic polymerization reactor setup
This specially developed anionic reactor contains a 1L main reactor and three 0.5L secondary reactors directly connected to it. This allows combinatorial process control, in which, for example, a block copolymer is synthesized in the main reactor and subsequently terminated in different media or combined with different additional blocks in the 3 secondary reactors.

Peptidsyntheseautomat

Peptide synthesizer

The peptide synthesizer can be used to produce tetra- or pentapeptides in a batch size of 0.5 mmol to 15 mmol much more time-efficiently than manual peptide synthesis. A 9-way valve allows the use of 8 different solvents or reagents.

Biofuge Primo

Centrifuges
The Heraeus Biofuge Primo (ThermoScientific) and the Heraeus Christ Hemofuge (for small biological samples) are available as centrifuges. In addition, samples can be centrifuged with the Hettich Zentrimix 380 R at up to 5000 rpm and temperatures from –20 °C to 40 °C. In addition to classic centrifugation, the dual centrifugation of this device also enables the production of (lipid) nanoparticles, extraction, grinding, mixing and dissolving as well as homogenization of samples and the digestion of organic and inorganic materials.

Titrationsautomat

Omnis pH titrator

The Omnis Titrator (Metrohm) is used for automated pH titration, which uses an Ag/AgCl electrode.  The dropping rate during titration is variably adjustable. In addition, the titration can be terminated either by time or by reaching a certain pH value. Thanks to the direct export of the measured data, no subsequent plotting of the data is necessary.

SPS 7

Solvent purification system MB SPS7
The MB SPS7 solvent purification system (MBraun) can be used to dispense anhydrous, ultra-pure solvents (toluene, dichloromethane, hexane, acetonitrile, N-methylpyrrolidone) quickly and easily under nitrogen atmosphere. The system also represents a safe alternative to distillation apparatus for providing anhydrous solvents.

Gefriertrockner

Alpha 3-4 LSCbasic freeze-dryer
The Alpha 3-4 LSCbasic freeze dryer from Martin Christ Gefriertrocknungsanlagen GmbH (11 L chamber volume) can be used to gently dry samples and even captures solvents using a cooling trap that is tempered to –105 °C. This way, organic solvents can be removed under mild conditions in a high vacuum (approx. 0.02 mbar) in addition to water.

Microfluidics-Setup (566)
The microfluidic setup can be used, for example, for the formulation of nanoparticles, assembly and flow chemistry reactions. Depending on the chip design, up to 5 channels can be controlled by combining different syringe pump modules (Cetoni Nemesys S starter module, single axis or double axis) and different glass microliter syringes (Setonic), which are available in different sizes (1 mL, 2.5 mL, 5 mL). The flow rate (0.0001 – 2500 µL/min) and the volume (up to 5 mL) can be set precisely to 4 decimal places. As part of the setup, an optical microscope with integrated camera allows the chip to be observed during use and photos and/or videos to be taken.

Filterprüfstand

Filter test stand (MFP2000, Palas)
The Palas MFP filter test stand is a modular filter test system for flat filter media and small mini filters (filter size 10 x 10 cm). For the filters to be tested, the filtration efficiency can be determined in the measuring range of 0.2 – 10 µm by the loading with various dusts and aerosols (salt - NaCl and KCl, diethylhexyl sebacate (DEHS) aerosol, ISO12103-1 A2 fine test dust). Furthermore, the pressure loss curve on the undusted medium can also be determined.
